How to Run GW-BASIC and Other 16 bit Programs in Microsoft Windows 7, 8 or 10

If you want to use GW-BASIC for educational purpose, and you have upgrade PC or Microsoft Windows 7, 8 and 10, then you cannot use this program DOSBoxbecause it is not compatible for windows 7, 8 or 10.  In GW-BASIC if you want to use screen 2 command then your system will give you error, that this system does not support full screen mode.

There are two best methods for using GWBasic program in Microsoft Windows 7, 8 and 10.
1- Install windows 2000 or xp, using VMware Workstation in your operating system.
2- Install DOSBox free utility in your windows 7, 8 or 10, It will run 16 bit programs and run directly GW-BASIC on your PC.

Method one is difficult, because its waste your precious time and you want registered version of VMware Workstation, and Windows 2000 or Windows xp CD. So I recommended you to use DOSBox free application and solve your problem.

DOSBox Installing Instructions:

1- First Download
2- Put GWBasic application directly on your D:\ drive

3- Download and run DOSBox setup file. www.dosbox.com
4- Run DOSBox program from desktop shortcut
5- Type Mount d d:\ and press enter and then type d:\gwbasic and run the GWBasic
