GW-BASIC is a 8bit or 16bit program, so it will not run properly on windows xp, window 7 and 8. The 8 bit and 16bit function calls have been removed from Microsoft’s newest windows. So now Microsoft has release a Free Visual basic Program for Alternate of GW-BASIC called Microsoft small basic.
